As an airline employee, in the past I have occasionally used code TVL for leisure travel to get a "travel Industry employee" rate. Typically the discounts could be pretty significant off BAR making it worth not earning points or stay credit.

While searching for hotels for an upcoming trip for Memorial Day Weekend in Zurich, CH, I noticed the rules and the restrictions for the TVL rate seem to no longer mention travel industry ID being acceptable for the rate, but now specifically call out the need for IATAN ID, business card, or letter with travel agency letterhead.

Curious if this was just for hotels in Switzerland, I looked at hotels in FRA as well as stateside and all hotels seemed to match the qualification rules for the rate.

Has anyone else noticed this change and have any other airline employees successfully used the rates with what seem to be these travel agent specific terms?
