Same PNR with instrument supported upgrades means same priority (the whole PNR inherits the status). Ordering within the group is honestly inscrutable - I gave up after my companion and I were in different places on two consecutive flights from the same PNR.
The funny thing is that me and my wife are on two different reservations, both 1-way, same fare.
I called the 1K desk, they are clueless as well and cannot explain what happened there. They also say they have no control on the list at this point...
Anyone of the UA experts here can guess what happened?
