The meeting route seems to have a lot of potential, and I was totally unaware of it before posting this!

I am on the board of a nonprofit, and we do have quarterly meetings that could easily be held at one of the local Courtyards. I had misunderstood the meeting credit and thought one had to book multiple overnight rooms to get the credit. But apparently, a two-hour board meeting with 6-people qualifies.

I did read the FT thread on this: There's quite a bit of bitterness and flame throwing about whether getting elite nights through meetings is somehow "cheating." I can't see how paying for meeting space out of my own pocket to host a few board meetings is "gaming the system," but it's a chance I'm willing to take. I'd rather spend money this way than putting up $450 to get Hilton Diamond status.
