Full disclosure: Marc Garneau was a childhood hero of mine. I still regret not taking the opportunity to meet him when he was invited as a guest speaker to the school where my mom was principal.

Notwithstanding my great respect for Mr. Garneau, he has become an embarrassment. No passenger bill of rights. No additional safety measures against pilot fatigue. What exactly is he waiting for?
