Very confused... She was making it the next day anyway to be served in the CL. She invited me. What did I do wrong? Should I have refused her invitation because I condescendingly decided I needed to be her time management controller? Was her totally unasked for invitation something you know she should not have offered because you understand her job? Are you her boss? In fact, the hotel manager stopped in while we were making the dessert, but I suppose her actual boss answers to you? She was the F&B manager, so she is likely not paid by the hour anyway.

And yes, I am fine with that level of familiarity. It's odd to me that anyone would think he is too good to be on a friendly term with a hotel staff member. Where would a statement like that even come from? Mrs Thurston Howell? Certainly no real person. It was a lovely invitation brought on by my complimenting a traditional dessert she was proud to have made. I have made it at home several times to raves from guests who are especially interested in the story behind my learning how to make it. Nobody has ever suggested that is showed too much familiarity with the hired help, and I'm now glad to realize I don't have friends who are snobs and might think that.
