I understand animals in captivity are divisive, but ... you can visit the Moorea Dolphin Center at the Intercontinental Moorea Resort. You do not need to pay to visit. You do need to pay to swim with the dolphins. We enjoyed walking around the resort as well.

Also, I have a guide to hiking, trails, beaches I found on the web before our visit 5 years ago. The guide is 15 years old now, but most likely still useful. PM me if you'd like me to send it to you.
