The current response from the Loyalty Team is Marriott will cancel all floater certs and refund the points. This leads to many to believe Marriott is taking the opportunity to get rid of the old certs and forced the members to take the much inferior point refund as if the member cancels the cert himself, under the current scheme. Can be a great way to get rid of liability on the books, the skeptical mind in me could not help but wonder about this.
