Well, I find it interesting insofar that VA are there in order to extract more money without offering much in return and the only group that are targeted by the fare type is civil servants flying on taxpayers money.
Funny thing is, I'm not a civil servant ... just wondering here whether the fact that I had a connecting flight within Japan has anything to do with the fare. Price was decent as well, 750€ for HEL-NRT-HEL.
That being said, I've never seen a fare basis code like this before when travelling for business.
