Well, if you want to get there, it is interesing that the government sources Value ticket in S booking code, which would also be compatible with Basic. Maybe it always buys Value tickets because it wants semiflexible fares, or because it wants a bag, and thought Value was the way (even though Basic is still available even in short-haul).

But that is probably nothing to Japan, and probably got nothing to do with the transiberian JV.
