Reading on the boards there is a smattering of info that some airline are specifically quite strict about this. Is ANA one?
As others have said, this is not a problem. I have flown many flights with NH in the past with my middle name left out. The only issue may be with online check-in - names have to match passport exactly (as I recently found out).
But otherwise, you'll be able to check-in at counters with no issue.
