Doing this route several times a year for family/pleasure I've actually found that although August is the peak season for tourism there may still be some good options in Biz/First if you check now - many business travellers seem to take their vacation at this time and I have personally not had a problem getting a good biz or first fare into London at that time. So it's worthwhile checking both the BA and AA websites for good deals. Another option is to book a 'package'. Including one or two nights in a hotel in conjunction with the flight can also lower the overall cost.
