I flew this route last year, just after the A350 debuted. Flew LGA-DTW-NRT. Was supposed to fly back HND-MSP-NYC, but my plans changed and I was able to get an earlier flight HND-LAX-JFK. (Certainly longer, but at least lie flat all the way).

When preparing "back-ups" I considered all sorts of routings, including via ICN on KE, and on D via HNL (I was looking for a late flight out of TYO. This routing had a long connection in HNL). Check also via ATL -- I think there was a new flight there?
