they did after we had taken off but what had particularly got me was that the cabin manager had gone to the passenger behind me who presumably had status prior to take off leaving me with the impression that they were not pleased to see me and that I would be receiving inferior service. In the ideal world the crew would work their way through the cabin introducing themselves etc and perhaps tailoring their message to recognise status.

Now I know this is about perceptions and I would like to stress that overall the service on all my 4 legs was excellent so lets not get it out of proportion
