Even if in this case if the FA had decided to cut off the OP because he appeared to have reached his limit, the fact remains that United has consistently become more stingy with wine in the front cabin. There are posts galore about how United flights have been so poorly stocked that they run out of wine during the meal service. This isn’t about a passenger becoming intoxicated, it’s about United cutting costs with food and beverage. I’m glad that I got to experience Polaris shortly after it was rolled out - it provided a glimpse into the good old days when UA actually tried to offer premium service.
