In the event of an equipment swap, AA will probably downgrade you and offer compensation (or not offer compensation but you will have to demand it).
This, happened to us from MAD to CLT in April. Called and told me that they were refunding me the difference and putting us in coach. I called and worked out flying through PHL to stay in PE as I had no desire to sit in coach on the ride home.
