Also the outbound is currently pretty empty so if i didn't pay for a seat is there a chance a preferred seat would becoming cheaper or free, also premium economy is empty and economy to premium pricing is roughly 200 more, would air Canada offer an upgrade at check in and if so is it usually very expensive if empty. Thanks
How do you know outbound is empty? The seat map? That’s not reliable and it’s not going to list seats for everyone in Tango along with anyone else who hasn’t picked a seat yet. It becomes more reliable a few hours before take off.
Thats a good cheap price given most TATL preferred seats are $100 without status. And that’s from Flex I thought.
Buying it now vs at OLCI gives you Zone 3 boarding (in theory). At OLCI given their location I’m going to assume Zone 5 default as it used to be.
I assume you are seeing Economy lowest available as as Flex right now which is why PY is $200 more. Even if it’s standard likely a different class. You can call them up, but I suspect from your Tango fare an update to PY is significantly higher. Will LMU be cheaper? Depends if it’s empty or O1 at checkin.
Preferred seats are only free if you don’t pick a seat and get a gate assignment. This pretty much puts you top of the bump list on Tango, and you’ll only get one if every other seat is taken. Basically low chance high risk.
Unless you are 5’ expect to feel cramped in a standard AC Y seat (most aeroplanes). I rarely fly without a preferred seat any more, not worth the aftermath. I’m just shy of 6’/183cm.
