If the unions consider "labor standards" in Ireland to be objectionable, why have they not also sought Aer Lingus's permission to fly to the US to be revoked????
Or can we expect to see further complaints made against nations/territories where "labor standards" are below the US level???
Norwegian's plan was to use cheap foreign labor in the form of flight crew from Thailand. Indeed they crewed many of their original OSL-JFK flights with Thai cabin crew back in 2013. That's what the US unions were objecting to. And of course Norwegian's own Norway based workers objected too. Norwegian had to backtrack on that, and did so around 2015. Yes you can argue the US unions should have relented then, but the original objection had merit. How would you like it if your job in Europe was taken by imported workers earning just over €300 per month?
