Might I recommend the Economy section at Stansted instead? Brilliant queue management, and lovely, polite, well trained staff. A speedy and hassle free Boarding experience at most times of day.
Yes I've witnessed this sort of behaviour several times. It's a part of premium flying and owning status I really dislike.
