We have ‘jumped’ the queue at the First Wing once, after a grindingly slow NEx coach from LGW due to traffic. This was around 1300.

We were getting desperately close to missing our flight to DUB (and later onwards to OGG, full story in the TR in my signature). We explained this to the Greeter, who ushered us to the front of everyone to a ‘spare’ desk. We then, to our surprise, encountered several ‘fumblers’ at Security (please note, OP!)

It is possible that one of those seen were in a similar state of stress.
