Sorry if I am being think but I don’t understand the problem, the cabin was checked and the lockers were all closed, the CSD made the announcement seats for takeoff and the crew took their seats and were not aware that an overhead locker had opened.
Your partner ended up calling over to the passenger to make them aware that the locker was open and they closed it before takeoff.
After takeoff you made a senior crewmember (what do you mean by this) aware of what happened?
Sorry - I'm not saying there is a problem, more surprise that the crew safety checks didn't spot a visibly open overhead locker, which I thought was a big safety no no.
I work in an environment of 'near miss reporting' so that when something could have gone wrong, its reported via a no blame culture to flag it up to make sure there are no wider issues / points that need to be captured. I raised it in case BA has a similar culture so that if necessary it could be noted and acted on if appropriate.
