I have stayed at hotel over the years about a dozen times. Hardware is still okay but it starts to show that it needs investment into an update.
I have stopped memorizing people at the reception or at the restaurants, the turnover is so high and it is unlikely to see the same person twice.
You do end up seeing the staff members again though at other luxury properties in town. The exception is Jay at Edo, who has been there for several years now.

Beds are quite comfy and the rooms are usually spotless same goes for the bathrooms.
Having been here a numerous times I have seen a few service hick-ups which can happen (bathroom floor is flooded from an overflowing toilet, rat in the room etc.).

I cannot recommend to use the pool. The hotel has a pigeon problem. You will therefore notice the 'chicken' fence encasing of the balconies of the rooms.
The pool is usually used as a pigeon bath and there are feathers and excrements all over.

Restaurants: Tried the Japanese, Italian and the Indian restaurant at the hotel.
The Japanese is quite decent, the Italian one is I would say adjusted to the local taste.
I never know what to choose from the menu, either soggy pasta or mushy unrecognizable topping pizza.
The Indian one is okay but not exceptional. There are definitely better places available in town.

Breakfast is a hit and miss for me. Service is usually bad and to me it is not clean enough.
Dirty cups and saucers with lipstick residue, dirty cutlery and placemats are the norm and not the exception.
Lots of servers standing/walking around but it feels like they are headless chickens and the managers appear as if they don't need to do direct guest service anymore.
If you ask the managers for something, they will pass it down to a staff member, which in turn will also pass it down to another staff member.
South Indian breakfast items are quite okay, depending who is preparing them. Same thing for the egg dishes, it is mostly depending on the staff members.
I usually end up walking around the buffet to find something that looks edible but I always end up with simple standard items which can't be screwed up like cut fruit, toast and curd (set yogurt)

Oh one more thing. Usually after two days into your stay will meet the customer service representative at the breakfast place. She will hand your card and asks you to reach out if you encounter any issues.
Generally speaking this is nice. However, be prepared the next time she meets you and this is regardless if you have stayed there already five or six times at the hotel, she will ask you again if this is your first stay at the hotel.
