2 - keeping the current Marriott as it offers the best travel coverage - baggage + trip delay + trip cancellation
3 - dropping UA next year - no more 1K reimbursement of the annual fee, inferior travel protection, get all the travel benefits already through status and will lose 1K status next year so upgrade on award is probably not going to happen, company pays for Global Entry
Am I making the right decision?
You're not giving up much, that's for sure. I would consider replacing UA with one of the Sapphire cards. Earn on airline tix purchases is pretty crappy with the MR card . . . you can effectively double (CSP) or triple (CSR) that. Or go AMEX Plat for 5x and forego the travel coverage.
