INTL transit at DEL T3

I will fly from NRT to DEL on JL and there I connect (one ticket) to HKG on CX. As it is intl > intl, I don't need any visa. Also, I understand that the lounge (Plaza Premium) is open 24 hours. Sounds OK, so far.

But I'm wondering if I will in fact be able to get my CX boarding pass at NRT check-in. The DEL departure is only 16 hours after the NRT departure (i.e., <24) but it is after midnight so, technically, the next day. If I am not able to get both BPs at the NRT check-in, will I be able to get the CX BP at the DEL transfer desk immediately when I arrive?

I am a bit nervous because I had a similar sort of transit onto CX at CMB last year and the CMB transfer desk wasn't able to give me my CX BP until the local CX check-in opened, three hours before departure. I didn't want to go landside, and without a BP I couldn't get into the lounge (I did ask), so I had to cool my heels for several hours in the hallway waiting to get the BP.

I truly hope I'm not in for something like that again at DEL.
