In fairness to myself, my booking wasn't all that long ago, so I assumed they would/should have known about a 3 month delay at that point. I will agree that they typically don't open on time, but most hold off for a long time before they open up reservation dates to avoid this issue (e.g. St. Regis Kanai and St. Regis Bermuda). In any event, if they are taking reservations, shouldn't they expect people to book and plan trips around the new resort? I love staying at new places and any time a new SPG luxury hotel or resort opens up near the US, I typically try to book a vacation there for sometime in the first year. I think I stayed at the St. Regis Punta Mita, Bahia Beach, and Deer Valley (Deer Crest back then) all within the first few months of opening. I've also had Cabo on my radar for a while, but was always underwhelmed by the SPG options until I saw this opening.

I didn't expect a bunch of free stuff, but at a minimum I would have expected an option to be moved to a resort at a comparable price point, or at least an offer with a rate at the other SPG properties that's not more than the currently bookable rate. I was just surprised by the response is all.
