I don't even pay attention to the "daily rate." It's the all-in rate that matters. I think that Nu-car make up some fees. I think I was looking at a company - it might have been Hertz - that had locations at a dozen hotels or more, but they all charged a 25% "Concession Recovery Fee."

My next trip, in June, I'm paying $120 all-in for four days, picking up at Dollar on Swenson St. near the airport and returning at TI. In August I decided to rent for only one day, downtown, and I think it's about $40 at Budget (with my AARP discount).
