Interesting. What made you regret the FS? We are traveling in November and also chose FS over Aman, mostly due to its location and the outdated Aman room appearance (we like the minimalist style but this seemed particularly excessive).
Regret is maybe too strong of a word... The FS is fine.. it's architecture and grounds are a little Disney'eque... The hotel was a bit of a respite from the hustle and bustle of Hangzhou.. food was solid, service was solid... I just couldn't shake that "this is pretty much like the FS Westlake Village" except plopped down next to West Lake...... and looking back, thinking that perhaps we might never go to Hangzhou again; I really wish I had had the Aman experience...
