I've had all of my cards rejected by at least 6-7 merchants so far, including the Defachang restaurant in Xi'an, which is apparently a tourist trap. They take UnionPay only, but Discover didn't work there. Absolutely ridiculous.
Discover would not work in many places here in Canada.
