I'm finding it easy to get the EQD, just buy booking PE/biz fares with partners (plus the Barclay MC helps too). The trouble I'll have this year is EQM.
There's a CX ORD-HKG-CMB biz fare for about $2500 right now. It would give about $5k EQD and 30k miles. I'm doing this later in summer, PM if you want details.
There was (may still be) a CX PE fare for about $1800 to many cities in Asia.
Plus a very quick way to get EQD and EQM is to book a BA PE fare, through LHR to Asia. Not necessarily the most comfortable though
