Some avios/TP movement every year shouldn't be a problem... just fly a qualifying short-haul OW carrier flight.

Can't see them requiring you to fly 4 BA flights since this defeats one of the key points of having 'lifetime' gold which is that you don't have any requirement to get gold each year except remain a member of BAEC.
