I need to book a return flight from Detroit to SFO but I’m certain I’ll be changing my return date and don’t want to pay a lot in date change charges. Which is the best airline in this respect?

Spirit flights are the cheapest for example, but does joining their 9 dollar club membership help lower these charges or something?
