Not exactly the same situation (I can only dream of LTG), but as a related data point, some years ago my BAEC (blue) account was dormant for more than 36 months. The few remaining Avios were indeed deleted, but the account remained open. I later started flying BA and collecting Avios again - the same membership number worked just fine, and my lifetime TP total continued to accumulate without being reset.
