Yes that looks like this 777-200 as mentioned above, and the seating looks wide open.

There is no "perfect" seat, particularly not in WT, we're all different. So 39JK would be an option but some people would absolutely hate being so far back, particularly in terms of the dash to passport control in JFK. On the other hand you know you're not going to be disturbed there by another passenger. 26J+K have a lot of leg room, but are nearer the toilets than row 39. There may be a case for going 37J+K since it's slightly more possible you could get an empty seat, however BA typically run with full cabins on the whole. You will note I'm only suggesting the starboard side of the aircraft - the sun tends to be in the wrong place on the port side mid flight.

There is a high chance this aircraft will change, that is a long way off in aviation terms.

Not sure about the return flight since you haven't given the flight number.

If you booked this on BA.com without complications / side trips / BA Holidays, keep an eye on the booking / App for any special prices for upgrades. There will be a clear banner when this is possible, not just an upgrade link. See the dashboard for POUGs and AUPs (the airport equivalent upgrade). The soonest they would appear is 48 or 72 hours after booking, normally, occasionally they pop up immediately.
