I'm impressed by how quickly and easily AA handled my claim. I emailed the address in the wiki Sunday night, had a response confirming my eligibility for compensation Monday morning, I returned the signed form and got an email today that a check is being dispatched. Their alternative offer of an $800 AA voucher is laughable vs. ~$720 cash. For the record my claim was caused by a delayed LHR-ORD flight which caused misconnections in both ORD and CLT getting me to my destination about 5 hours late. LHR-ORD was delayed because of mechanical reasons.

Any data points for how long it takes to receive the check from them? Edit: check arrived on May 14th
