What if the App told you it was going to be delayed for five hours? Ten hours? I realise this is rare but just making the point - do you always go for the original time even for very extended delays?

I have never missed conformance as I’m more of a “enjoy the lounge” sort of person but I’d like to know what the advice is for a very long delay of several hours.
in these cases when the app shows 5-6-10 hours of delay you should try to contact to the operating airline and ask what time you should go to the airport. Most of the time when the airline knows it really will be couple of hours delay then will tell you a new checkin/boarding time. I think generally it would be wrong you to make that call and turn up late.
