I still think its optimistic to think these WN CA to HI flights will be rolling out as soon as people think. Also, anyone know if they're going to have functional ViaSat or wifi on those 5+hr trans-oceanic routes?
But the best thing that I see in all of this is WN getting into the inter-island HI service, whenever that happens.
Someone needs to challenge Hawaiian Airlines on the inter-island routes as they've had a monopoly since Go! Airlines and Island Air have gone away, and fares reflect that. Mokulele Airlines' 9-person Cessna's and limited route aren't true competition for HA between those select islands.
Hell, I'd even fly WN the inter-island flights since they're only 20-30mins and I'll just pretend it's a bus ride. That's where WN shines! ;-)
