Lets see how that played out.

Mmhmmm. We will be fine.
Seattle was Alaska's home turf; Hawaii isn't. It's going to have a significant negative impact on all existing carriers but probably most acutely Alaska. Alaska's been fortunate to have a decade operating out of WN-dominated airports without competition from WN. They're not going to abandon Hawaii because of this but it will be interesting to see the competitive dynamics play out, where WN will be the heavy favorite (OAK, SMF) and where it may be a little more balanced (SJC, SAN).
