If the OP's credit card is issued in the UK, they are protected by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, and I think telling BA that the OP will dispute the transaction if they don't cough up a receipt is quite a credible and reasonable threat. Going through with it may or may not be successful, but it certainly wouldn't lead to the card being cancelled.
