When I search for flight awards on ANA's website, I see this confusing checkbox at the bottom labeled: "Check when logged in user will not be included"

What's the purpose of this option? Just a convenience if I'm booking for people other than myself? More importantly, would it affect the award results shown if I'm not flying? (I tried a couple dates, and didn't see any difference with it checked or not.)
