Air Canada pilots tend to be individuals who have banked a lot of flight time. That is pretty much not disputable especially when compared to say, Asian carriers.

That said as per the NTSB article, approaches into SFO are challenging and after reading that entire NTSB article, I am surprised that pilots that are not as experienced as the flight crew operating that AC flight that day haven't crashed more planes. I would have expected the AC flight crew to have performed better, especially since as per the NTSB article that after the 10 year pilot contract that pilot fatigue reports have actually increased which would lead me to believe that fatigue should not have been such a major factor in this incident.

That said I know we have discussed the CVR piece and IMHO after reading the lengthy NTSB article it doesn't appear to me the pilots were intentionally being malicious.

Of course, that could be just what the lawyers are trying to accomplish.
