40k points is worth a lot. A return flight award on Europe, for instance. Did your points expire because you didn't use your account? Did your first flight Asia-Europe take place within the expiry deadlines? If yes, retroclaim the missing points using the online form and when you've got them, contact AY by phone to ask them to reinstate the points that shouldn't have expired (and that expired because AY didn't credit you the points from this recent trip). Should work just fine.

AY only has emails for status members, so you need to call them to sort this out.
