At LAX last week an Op up at the check in desk from WT+ to CW

Unfortunately the IFE was out of action for the whole flight and despite it being re-booted 3 times it was not happening. This was for the whole plane and passenger service recovery forms were handed out so awaiting to see what BA offers.

The Captain was extremely apologetic and came on 3 times with lengthy announcements, as did the CSD, but it was apparently a hardware fault which occurred on the ground at LAX. Overheating of the system was the reason given and Engineers were waiting on our arrival as were 3 BA Customer Service reps handing out letters with the CSD collecting the recovery forms at the door on the way out.

I've never had a whole flight where the IFE was out and I've never read so many newspapers and magazines on a flight! Note to self to buy an iPad and take my own films/documentaries etc! Grateful for the upgrade as that killed 4-5 hours of the flight and a reasonably decent sleep!
