The CBD around the Marriott was much quieter than that of the JW. As for air quality, I found it to be better than Beijing and Shenzhen, and at par with Dalian, in the north. The abundance of parks and trees, especially around the the Marriott's location adjacent to the Qiantang River promenade, allowed for natural air filtration. West Lake, closer to the JW, provided the same benefit. The day that I spent there was a weekday, and as a result, relatively quiet.
