Wife will get enough EQD's for status on next flight so not a huge deal, but I found it strange to have them calculated differently.
There was a schedule change which required a new routing on the return, but they both stayed in same booking class.
If you purchased a special fare and your daughter's EQDs look correct based on the special fare earning chart, then I would certainly call AAdvantage Customer Service to get your wife's EQDs corrected/increased. Especially as upgrade priority is sorted by EQD amongst each elite level, every little bit counts.
There seems to be a growing problem of special fares not posting correctly, lots of similar reports over on the special fares thread. I flew on a AA Vacations special fare this week, sure enough miles posted with earning by fare rather than distance. I will definitely call AAdvantage CS once everything posts to get it fixed. The more people call with errors and issues, hopefully the more incentivized AA will be to fix it.
