When UA got all fancy with its wine selections (even pretentiously offering wine "flights", they also introduced a wine list (I know that all other airlines manage this, but it was new for UA), I really struggled to ask for wine. I can pronounce wines in the French manner (in a sort of anglicised way, but whatever I say, the UA staff have no idea what I am saying. It seems they know them as the French red or the Australian red or whatever. The trouble is that sometimes there's a choice of French red, and then both are known by the same name.

And whilst on the topic of wine pronunciation, the one name that I simply cannot get my tongue around is Moeiux, as in the proprietor of Ch Petrus, Dominus in California and various other good wines. Don't even know where to begin.
