My allergies are all adult-onset, as are most people I know personally. I grew up in a time when few children had (known) allergies, although asthma was on the rise.
According to this article, which refers to the USA "Food allergies affect an estimated 5 percent of adults, compared to 8 percent of children, and these rates are rising."

There's a large body of literature on allergies, and I was diagnosed by one of the leading specialists and authors of his time, which is why I'm interested in where your facts came from.
