Yes it's a not insignificant problem, I discovered this by chance a while ago, when I "accidentally" booked for 1 and then noticed the rate had dropped.

Many people are probably being overcharged by certain properties if they don't realize they need to check the rates for 1 person first.

I've complained once but nothing happened, I guess the most we can do is try to get the word out.
