Hello - first time poster because we are finally starting to travel now that the kids are older and fun to take on trips

AmEx Platinum is offering me 100k in miles if I sign up with them. My husband currently has an AmEx Blue that earns him oh, around $1000 a year cash back. We maybe air travel 3-4 times a year and usually never stay in luxury properties because our travel is pretty much to see family or in hotel chains in the middle of nowhere for youth baseball tournaments (Why can't they play a weekend tournament in someplace fabulous, seriously!). I like the Uber credits because we use Uber at least 3-4 times a month during baseball season. However, it's a big birthday coming up next year for me and I'd like to take the family to Hawaii. We have a timeshare available to stay in, but would it be worth it to sign up for this AmEx and use the 100,000 miles to help offset flights from Denver? I only have Rapid Rewards with SouthWest and just depleted them for a Spring Break in Mexico. They don't go to Hawaii anyway (I don't think) so I have no airline allegiance. Our trip will be next June so hopefully the credits will be available before January so I can start looking for flights.
