Bear in mind that DL requires you to be at the gate no later than T-30. Thus, it is impossible for you to timely connect unless your inbound flight is really early. DL will not necessarily cancel you at T-30, but if the flight is overbooked and at risk of oversale, offloading you becomes easy and cheap (no IDB).

Also a bad place to connect. Scheduled departure is 16:50 and there are no later options which get you to CDG.
Flights into SLC are usually padded. If the LAX-SLC flight leaves on time, it will most likely arrive early. 30 minutes is fine at SLC, and if OP misses the flight, a reroute through AMS is possible as there is a 9:00 pm flight SLC-AMS.
