The PDX fare via LAX seems to only ever give me that 8am AA1 transcon. Could it just be the day I'm looking, or is this true in general?
I was able to get a choice of AA10 or 28 overnight to LAX - it added around £25 to the fare and connects to the day flights back to LHR. On Matrix the time bar option was quite handy in picking the options you wanted.
