I have your same generation which I think was G2. I thought there was another version between ours and the new one but I’m really not sure and may be confusing it with the spinner version. Count me in the group of the old bad being great but not liking the new version. I never ran into a size issue like some complained but I think it was technically too large for at least some carryon rules. The new generation is probably .5” smaller on all sides. I don’t think it’s as well built as the old one but I didn’t keep it. My 2009 bag has taken a real beating but i’ll do whatever I can to keep it going. Will buy the Tumi before I use the new Kirkland bag.
